There was at one point a law being set about animals being used for entertainment and being treated in humanely, mainly within Circus’s for shows, a lot of animals like Lions, Elephants, Horses were used and abused to entertain people, even exploited and then hurt or killed if they stepped out of line.
The real problem is is that humans think they control animals, they are wild animals and its wonderful learning about them but even teaching has its costs, and no matter how much time you spend with a lion or shark even if they do seem friendly and familiar as we can all expect having pets, but even pets are still wild at heart. The problem is people thinking they can control a wild thing and to quote Audrey Hepburn playing Holly Go Likely from Breakfast as Tiffany’s ‘You must never give your heart to a wild thing’.
